Chief Master Sergeant REGINA L. MONK

Chief Master Sgt. Regina L. Monk serves as the Command Chief for the 189th Airlift Wing, Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. Chief Monk advises commanders and staff on mission effectiveness, professional development, military readiness, training, utilization, health, morale, and welfare of the wing’s enlisted Airmen and takes action to address shortfalls and challenges. He provides leadership to the enlisted force and is the functional manager for group superintendents and first sergeants within the wing.


Chief Monk graduated from El Dorado High School in May 1982, enlisting in the United States Air Force September 1982. Upon graduating basic training, she attended technical training at Sheppard AFB, Texas, where she served as a Passenger and Household Goods Specialist. In August of 1986, she received a remote assignment to Comiso Air Station, Sicily, with a follow-on assignment to Eaker AFB, Ark. After arriving on station, she was the noncommissioned officer in charge of the outbound section within the traffic management office. After serving at Eaker AFB, Chief Monk was assigned to Taegu Air Base, South Korea as a customs inspector for shipping. Her follow-on assignment was Upper Heyford RAF, United Kingdom. In July 1992, she separated from active duty at Charleston AFB, South Carolina and remained as an inactive reservist until 1994. In September 1998, Chief Monk enlisted into the Air Force Reserve assigned to the 917th Reserve Unit, Barksdale AFB, Louisiana. She remained with the reserve unit until October 2000.In December 2000, she enlisted with the Arkansas Air National Guard and was assigned to the 89th Logistic Readiness Squadron as a cargo movement specialist. In March 2010, she became the distribution superintendent, overseeing cargo movement, passenger travel and ground operations. In October 2020, she was selected for the position as the 189th Mission Support Group 9G. After serving as the MSG 9G, she was selected as the 189th Airlift Wing Command Chief.
