About the 189th Airlift Wing

189th Airlift Wing


The 189th Airlift Wing is a tenant unit located on Little Rock AFB, an active duty airlift wing aligned with Air Mobility Command, is the center of legacy training in the Air National Guard, and throughout the world, training C-130H pilots, navigators, flight engineers and loadmasters. The wing is the quick response force when called to action by the Governor for state active duty. The wing's Rapid Augmentation Team is comprised of Guardsmen who respond to aid the state of Arkansas and other locations around the Nation as needed.

MISSION


We are mission-ready Airmen providing premier training to the C-130 and Cyber enterprises, capitalizing on partnerships to support the state and defend the Nation. 

189 Operations Group - The 189th Operations Group plans and executes training missions for pilots, navigators, flight engineers, and loadmasters annually. The Enlisted Academic Aircrew School provides academic training for Air Force, international, and U.S. Marine Corps C-130H flight engineers and loadmasters. The 189th OG's 223rd Cyberspace Operations Squadron is a training unit to facilitate the Cyber Skills Validation Course and the Mission Defense Team for Air Force Space Command.

189th Maintenance Group - The 189th Maintenance Group performs all maintenance for the C-130H Legacy aircraft. More than 27,000 maintenance actions are performed each year.

189th Mission Support Group - The 189th Mission Support Group support and logistics functions, which include contracting, civil engineering, communications, security forces, force support, and logistic readiness squadrons.

189th Medical Group - The 189th Medical Group provides responsive care and services to Guardsmen and ensures a fit and medically ready Arkansas Air National Guard force.

189th Staff Agencies - The 189th Airlift Wing staff includes a variety of agencies that directly support the wing commander, group commander, and the base population.

PARTNER UNITS

314th Airlift Wing - The 314th Airlift Wing (Air Education and Training Command) is the nation's tactical airlift "Center of Excellence" and trains C-130J aircrew members from the DoD, U.S. Coast Guard, and 47 allied nations. The wing trains more than 1,800 students, the DoD's largest international flight training program.

19th Airlift Wing - The 19th Airlift Wing (Air Mobility Command) is the host wing and provides the Department of Defense mission-ready Airmen and supports the largest C-130 fleet in the world. As part of AMC's global reach capability, the wing's responsibilities range from providing humanitarian aircraft relief to victims of disasters to airdropping supplies and troops into the heart of contingency operations as well as supporting base partners as the host unit.

913th Airlift Group - The 913th Airlift Group was activated on July 13, 2014, and reports to the 22nd Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Georgia. The group provides C-130 combat airlift capability on a worldwide scale and is currently in a Classic Association with the active duty 19th Airlift Wing, Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, as part of the Air Force Total Force Integration initiative. The Group is comprised of more than 500 members.
