Fall is here, and with the change in season comes a change safety priorities. While safety is always number one, focusing on the ins and outs of hunting safety is a necessity during the new season. There are many elements of hunting safety that must always be taken into account when in the woods. If utilizing a tree stand, ensure you are wearing the proper protective gear such as a harness. While it might seem restricting and unnecessary, it is absolutely vital to ensure you don't take that 15-foot fall out of a tree. Hunter Safety and Education, including tree stand safety, courses are offered on a consistent basis with the Arkansas Fish and Game Commission as well as through your wing safety office.  Don't hunt without a plan, make sure you have all necessary equipment wherever and whenever you hunt. In the event of an emergency, you don't want to be up a tree without the tools to ensure your safety and success.
