The 189th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (AMXS) of the 189th Airlift Wing, Arkansas Air National Guard, held a change of command ceremony at Hangar 207 here, Sept. 6.
Maj. Clifford Franklin relinquished command of the squadron to Maj. Christopher Wolter, who has commanded the wing's communications flight for more than three years. Franklin moves on to take over as the 189th Maintenance Group deputy commander.

"I started my career in aircraft maintenance." Wolter said. "I've always looked forward to the chance to return to the field that I know and love."

The Aircraft Maintenance Squadron is responsible for providing safe, reliable and mission ready C-130 aircraft in support of the 189th Airlift Wing mission. Three flights of highly-skilled aircraft mechanics work three overlapping shifts to keep the wing's C-130 humming to support the Formal Training Unit mission.
