CONGRATULATIONS! YOU ARE EXCELLENT!

The 189 AW received an overall "EXCELLENT" grade from the Air Education and Training Command Inspector General (IG) team with two sub area grades of "OUTSTANDING".

That is great news and serves to validate our personnel, programs, processes, and our culture of excellence.

In addition to the myriad of areas graded by the IG Team, our medical group received a Health Services Inspection from the Air Force Inspection Agency and our logistics and maintenance functions received an evaluation from an Air National Guard team in the form of a Logistics Compliance Assessment Program Inspection.

The overall grade for all of these inspections was "EXCELLENT"! I'd also like to highlight the fact that we received a sub area grade of "OUTSTANDING" on the "standards" area of the report. This grading area reflects our adherence to standards of uniform wear and observance of military customs and courtesies (saluting, etc.). It is extremely unusual for the IG team to visit a wing for a week and document no deficiencies in this area. I'm proud to say that the 189th had zero documented deficiencies in "standards". This reflects our professional culture and shows that we set a great example for our students and the rest of Team Little Rock.

These inspections culminate months of hard work and focused preparation by all the members of this wing. As we look forward to 2013 we thankfully see fewer inspections on the horizon. We need to continue our focus on doing our daily business of student training and maintaining deployment readiness--all in a compliant, safe and fiscally responsible manner. This is an exciting time to be in the Arkansas Air National Guard and I want to congratulate you all on the superior team performance that we all just witnessed.

I'm proud of each and every member of this wing and I'm happy to say--"That's my team!"
